отрезок, характеризующий величину и направление какого-либо параметра. вектор может изображаться графически в виде стрелки, длина которой пропорциональна величине параметра, и указывающей в направлении действия данной величины. — any quantity which has both magnitude and direction, and may be represented by an arrow of length proportional to its magnitude, pointing in the assigned direction.
